Mr. Qazi Tallat Mehmood Siddiqui, Chief Engineer (DSC)
Functions:
- Carry out periodic inspections of dams & barrages with DSO-WAPDA and advise on repairs and maintenance of dams and reservoirs;
- Review plans of new dams & barrages for technical inputs;
- Review plans and specifications for enlargement, modifications, major repairs, revival etc. of dams/ barrages;
- General liaison with national and international organizations, including International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD);
- Pakistan is a member of ICOLD since 1950. The Wing works as the Secretariat of Pakistan National Committee of ICOLD (PANCOLD).
The Annual/Periodic inspection of following major dams is carried out by DSC in association with DSO-WAPDA:
- Mangla Dam
- Tarbela Dam
- Warsak Dam
- Hub Dam
- Simly Dam
- Khanpur Dam
- Chashma Barrage
- Mirani Dam
- Ghazi Barotha Hydero Power Project
During the year 2022, Dams Safety Council of O/o the CEA & CFFC performed.
